DW Associates has announced its intention to create an international network of security champions as part of its wider ambition to improve global security knowledge sharing and awareness seamlessly between countries.
The Security Champions Network (SCN) will establish champions in countries around the world working closely with people who can help the team build networks and deliver knowledge transfer. It will be open to all and operate on free membership basis.
The SCN program will include access to free webinars, education and awareness training, practical guides on how to problem solve, mentoring assistance and support as well as networking.
The brainchild behind the initiative is David Ward, founder of DW Associates. David has worked in the security industry for more than 20 years, and is well known for establishing a multi-million pound national security business. He is the Chair of the CSSC Southern Region and co-creator of the successful City Security Council (CSC) – an organisation that for the first time brought together competing security businesses, the metropolitan police and other emergency services based in the City of London to coordinate a joined-up response to counter terrorism, sharing intelligence and acting collectively.
He said “Our hope is that by encouraging and facilitating knowledge transfer, best practice and expertise that we have gained over many years in the security sector with businesses and individuals responsible for security we believe we can help contribute to a more robust and safer environment that is not simply confined to one country. From setting up the CSC in London, I have already seen first-hand the practical benefits to be gained from creating collaborative networks. I believe there is a real need for this to go beyond the UK and as we are working with clients internationally, I would like to support some additional security knowledge transfer by setting up an accessible network. We are starting initially in the European and Middle East countries where our clients are based but with a view to broadening out further.
“We want to hear from anyone who would like to be part of the network because they have a security role or responsibility for safety within the organization, business or community in which they operate. We are particularly keen to hear from people who can assist us in spreading information as well as those who think they might have something of interest for our network to learn.”
