David Ward, founder of DW Associates, has been bestowed the prestigious honour of Freedom of the City of London in recognition of his outstanding service to security. This award is given to people who have achieved success, recognition or celebrity in their chosen field.
The first Freedom of the City of London was reportedly presented in 1237 although the reasons for obtaining it have changed over the years. Previous recipients include members of the Royal Family Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, Lady Diana Princess of Wales, former Prime Minster Winston Churchill, international leaders and entrepreneurs such as Nelson Mandela, President Eisenhower, Bill Gates and Bob Geldof
The award was presented to David in a roof top ceremony by Murray Craig, Clerk of the Chamberlain’s Court, and is the first ceremony to be conducted on the roof.
David who began his career over 25 years ago said “I am deeply flattered and moved to have received this prestigious honour. I am grateful to the council for the recognition and fully committed to continuing to contribute in any way I can to help support the safety and security of our nation.”
